My Bay Area company has said that they're not going to require masks in the office because they'll require that everybody be vaccinated.

They've also said that they will never require anyone to go into the office again.

We'll see how it plays out. Right now, the office is still closed.

My German based tech company will also require this.

I will not comply and probably lose my job. They appear to be ready to offer severances of 2 weeks for each year of experience for employees who elect to not be vaccinated.

For 15 years of service, I look forward to doubling my salary (or more) for 7 1/2 months.

A friend of mine in healthcare just got off a conf call and the new phrase for vaccinated people with covid is "breakthrough cases" or "breakthrough patients".

She said the number of those who have been vaccinated coming down with covid is very high.

She's not a coronabro (or sis rather) but just shaking her head at how insignificant of an impact these vaccines are making.

I spoke with a friend yesterday who's wife is in healthcare. He used the term "breakthrough cases" multiple times saying she sees far more "breakthrough cases" than (my words) Neanderthal cases. Crazy how viruses work.

We are being told the same though the only info we are receiving in house is the delta variant is more communicable but no comment on how virulent it is.

It was always going to evolve to be more communicable but less deadly.

It's now bounced around hundreds of millions of bodies, and the most efficient and transmissible virus is the one that has survived.

Continuing to call it COVID-19 is even a bit of a stretch.

That makes zero sense. Unless one is willing to assume that particular vaccine type is failing. Is someone keeping track of which vaccine type a given case got? Or is this a case of vaccinated people now going glibly among those KNOWN to be sick, hacking, etc, thinking it makes them immune?

I don't know I was just told a small snippet from her conf call.
