So the solution to combating a price increase due to supply limitations is to put an even bigger burden on supply? Makes sense.

Does this mean the 'don't buy gas on Monday to stick it to the oil companies" emails are gonna start up again?

So we should panic?

What is the increase?
15% a gallon?
50% a gallon?

"On Monday, the national average price of a regular gallon of gasoline was $3.039$0.17 more per gallon than last month's price, and $1.12 more expensive than this time last year."

By all means we should put a stop to the Keystone pipeline, stop oil and gas drilling on federal lands, and place more burdensome regulations on fracking. That should do the trick.

Oh wait .....

At least the mental weaklings in our midst don't have to stomach any more mean tweets.

Gas usually always goes up for memorial day weekend, but where does this year's price compare to the same time 2019, mostly because last year it was low because of covid.

If Trump was in office it might be around 2 bucks a gallon right now.

Thanks, and thank God I live in Texas where I'm paying a little under $2.50 a gallon.

The fair thing would be to compare it to May 2018 or May 2019. Anything last year is utterly misleading.

Yep. When Houston gas hits $3.00/gallon, then I'll be pissed.

1972: one hour of minimum wage would take an average car 47 miles

2021: one hour of minimum wage buying gas at $2.88 per gallon would take an average car 63 miles

1972:
Min wage: $1.40
Gas: $0.36
Avg MPG: 12

2021:
Min Wage $7.25
Gas: $2.88
Avg MPG: 24.9

It's been many years since I even noticed the price at the pump.
