When the first story was published on SFGATE, it seemed like a cut-and-dry case: A guy is putting others in danger by back seat driving his Tesla across the Bay Area, and, after some calling out of the CHP, he was caught just days later when the CHP received calls of him pulling the same stunt Monday night, the CHP said.

Param Sharma, 25, was arrested Tuesday and charged with reckless driving and disobeying a peace officer.
A POC with affluence issues?
Sounds like the problem China had some years ago.

Another post, showing off the Daily Mail's coverage of his back seat driving on an iPad, reads, "I came outta the pandemic in a self driving car U blue blue collar peasants can't understand my life."

The bio of an Instagram likely belonging to him reads: "I'm a gold collar u a blue collar 25 left the pandemic richer than ever before." Derision of blue-collar labor, fancy cars, including a Lamborghini, and wads of cash feature heavily in his account.

Everything Sharma has done online seems calculated for maximum outrage and viral potential, a walking, talking algorithm engineered for clout. He says he only uses toilets filled with sparkling water. He holds bands of cash in his mouth. He reportedly has six iPhones.
This is a sign of things to come.

He claimed he's trying to prove a point: that driverless cars are the "way of the future," KTVU reported.

"I've been brake-checked before really hard, and the car stopped. The car came to a complete stop. Elon Musk really knows what he's doing and I think people are tripping and they're scared," he said.

This guy reminds me of Anthony Gignac. Google him up.

Technology and social media breed this kind of narcissistic dangerous crazy.
I just hope Texas is immune to it for another decade.

Still safer than the teenage girl posting an IG selfie while driving at 70mph.

I thought this was impossible to do, as discussed in the Tesla fire incident where the assumption ended up that one of the guys was in the driver's seat and moved when he couldn't escape the fire?

This guy is a tool. They took away his TESLA and he just bought another one. He basically thinks if you aren't a millionaire, you're a loser. He is the financial version of a sore winner.

Sharma is a punk. Needs an ass-kicking; obviously never got one growing up.

Lock him up for awhile; he will get some jail lovin'. Probably better learning experience then an ass-kicking.

It is but can probably be overridden with strategically placed weights. If my seat belt is unbuckled and my butt leaves the seat, my Telsa goes into Park immediately as a precaution. In autopilot mode I have to shake the steering wheel every 15-30 seconds if my hands aren't on the wheel so it knows I'm still awake.

This dude had to go through a lot of effort to pull this off. And I'm sorry the "only crap in toilets with sparkling water" part cracked me up.

There's a reason why parents of wealthy children a lot of time make trusts for their children that, in the event of death, can't be accessed by the kid until at least the age of 30.

Humans aren't really built to having the world in the palm of their hand via opulent wealth until they are much more mature. When they do get it young, you get this.

Ours get half at 30 and the other half at 35. But I'm thinking about making their ownership dividends only

Personality aside; this stunt reminds me at some level of a reasonable person walking around mask-less. If it's safe, then it's safe. The illusion of safety doesn't change the reality (Tesla drivers not paying attention behind the wheel). Sure, it makes others nervous and is against the rules / laws, but eventually automated driving will be accepted and between here and there you'll see a lot of folks made very uncomfortable.

Please don't tie the portfolio manager's hands with the "dividends" fallacy...Ask your attorney to include distribution % language for the trustee to follow, not "dividends".

Didn't two dudes die in a fiery lithium battery Tesla crash in The Woodlands or Spring TX just a couple of weeks ago because they were both sitting in the back seat?

Isn't this that Instagram troll ego went by, "Itslavish"? He used to post about all the money daddy gave him, etc. when he was in high school some years ago. He went silent after picking up a theft charge, and I never could figure out if it was just a troll or a legitimate spoiled brat.

I mentioned that upthread. That was the original theory; one counter to that is one of them was in the driver's seat and tried to get away from the fire, which was why the bodies were in the back. I didn't hear if they found weights or something else in the drivers pedal area to explain how they were able to be in the back seat while the car was in motion.
