Sounds like Florida State is smarter at hiring replacement Presidents than they are replacement coaches.

They were wise to steer clear of Young.

Been financially insolvent and not being able to pay debts, like say $1200, looks very poorly on organizational management skills.

Whatever it takes to get him out of the city limits.

They don't want his liberal clown show tour to stop in their town, either. That his name being mentioned with this shows me that he was quietly removed from his position at A&M, and not retire off into the sunset at the Bush school like many thought.

This is just larger scenario of a the school district who reasigns a head football coach to asst AD and geography teacher to appease his followers down at the church. Mean while he is dropping resumes everywhere.
Or the hated, incompetent principal who has a cush position in front office created for him, but leaves for some podunct school desperate for a principal August 20, and his new job is never filled.

In this case though, the higher goals of the right should supercede rivalry. You don't want any Marxism contaminating Florida at any level now. It may have to be the conservative flagship.

You're not supposed to take age into consideration, but why would an institution want to hire someone they're most likely going to have to replace in a few years again? Unless you've got someone waiting in the wings you want to get some more experience, hiring a 71 year old seems like asking to be back in the same position in a short amount of time.

While I am not sure he is a hard core liberal, he was too weak to stand against the woke culture. His current wife, I am told, is a flaming liberal. I think he oversold himself as a strong conservative when hired and then just allowed himself to be castrated by the liberals on campus. At his age he should take the golden parachute and fade away. I doubt any institution wants to take a chance on him.
