Paying women to get the implant for 5 years, with an opportunity to get paid for another 5, would do so much for reducing abortions and the welfare system.

This may be the dumbest idea I've ever heard. Do you want a birthing crisis? Because this is how you get a birthing crisis.

yes, that is exactly what I said.

Yes, that's pretty much what you said. Your first thoughts when confronted with tons of lives that will be saved is "what about taxes".

otherwise you are subjecting some of the kids to misery, neglect,, setting them up for failure, and some for poor health and starvation.

Do you not know anyone who had a very difficult upbringing/childhood that ended up making a good life for themselves? Your logic is ridiculous.

I've been staunchly pro-life for over 50 years, but you finally convinced me. Some of the kids my have a tough time, so let's just kill 'em all up front.

I grew up when abortion was illegal. I have many friends and family members (including my mother) who were the result of unplanned pregnancies. All of them were loved, cared for, and grew up to be fine people. But then, that was back when people actually accepted responsibility for their actions. Now we just kill 'em.

Yeah, I am sure they would rather just be killed.

Took some time to think about your comment and got even angrier. Just to be completely clear. Just so you and everyone else is tracking, you're advocating for murder. Taking the life of innocent human beings. It's funny how all the ones making these pro abortion arguments were themselves, not aborted.

this. if the goal is to end abortions, widespread access to contraception, birth control, and sex ed all should be on your wish list.

In Texas the government helps foster parents significantly to raise kids. They even pay to help religious foster agencies operate and don't mind if they indoctrinate the kids on their chosen religion. We support One Hope in San Antonio and they are awesome. This is all good, and plenty of people want to adopt young babies.

So we already do pay taxes to promote this amazing ministry, I mean er.. government program.

We need more foster parents for the kids who are teens, that's where this gets tricky. I think the statistic is if every church in America has a church family adopt a child, all kids would be accounted for. That's what we need, along with promoting birth control and sex ed... and yes government should kick in because there is an unmet need that would benefit society as a whole for a relatively small financial cost.

Yeah raise my taxes for the foster system, I'm good with that

To many people, there is no difference between:

1) Offering a place for you to kill your unborn child; and
2) Offering a place for you to kill your 1 year old infant.

I know you don't see it that way. That's fine.

But going straight to taxes in response to this isn't putting your best argument forward.
It takes a special kind of brainwashed useful idiot to politically defend government fraud, waste, and abuse.

This bill is DOA and everyone knows it. They may as well call it "Texas Republicans Ask the Supreme Court Yet Again to Overrule Roe v Wade Bill," which of course ain't happening. Weren't a lot of you fellows bent about the leg wasting time considering legalizing marijuana? No complaints about wasting time on legislation that is facially unconstitutional?

Really so no exception for rape or incest. Something tells me if men could get raped and procreate, this bill would never have passed.

Will be interested to see what 50+ percent of Texas women who are NOT Christian/Catholic/Mormon think about this.

It's really clear to be honest. Regardless of unfortunate circumstances that led to an unwanted pregnancy, at the point of conception, there is another human being completely innocent of the circumstances that is living now. Not you, a mother, or anyone else should get to determine that human beings fate. The fact that you, and others can casually talk about abortion as if it's not something disgusting and despicable is mind boggling. This is our Holocaust, and I pray one day people will wake up to it and feel the full weight of what's been going on.

I heard an excellent point on Matt Walsh's show yesterday. Often times people who advocate for the death penalty (I do) end up changing their mind on a certain offender/murderer after they see them helpless and remorseful in prison for some time, however with abortions you don't get to see or talk to the human being, you just slay it because its much easier when you don't have to see it/know that it's cognizant.

If people end up feeling bad and don't want to follow through on capitol punishment for a guilty murderer, then how in the world are we just fine with murdering an innocent child, no questions asked?
