I'm all for paying people what they're worth but not sure this position should pay someone this amount.

In my opinion that's a low salary for a CEO when you compare to other ceos at other companies. Take for example oil and gas companies. Some of those guys make millions of dollars per year and I'm talking like easily over 10 million per year.

If that data is from a 990, they lump a whole lot of things in that number. Benefits, retirements, other perks.

Bet his house hasn't lost a second of power too...

Yes. A good ED/CEO is worth the price tag in large nonprofits.

ERCOT is not the same class of nonprofit as a food pantry. It's a 501(c)(4) - a unique class - that acknowledges it exists to deliver a public good, but can also lobby politicians (taxable expense), hide donors, and contributions do not count as write offs.

It's pretty much a business without the direct goal of making money.

I admit ignorance on the interconnections here...but how is Abbott only able to recommend a resignation?

I get being the ceo of ERCOT is a bureaucrat position and requires little to no experience in this field, you're just a politician.

But, fire him. At this point, I'm all about seeing people fired with the damage that is coming when things thaw...........it'll be the largest natural disaster in this states history someone said on wfaa.

Ercot should actually be sercot. They are all about sustainability.

Correct. I can't imagine anyone making more than $250K that doesn't already have one and a well for that matter.
