Given 99% were unarmed, they were the poorest equipped terrorist in history. Had no game plan, no objective, and did not set out to maximize the body count. That had to be the most disorganized act of terror in global history. And most of them didn't even light fires or make an effort to maximize destrution of property

Dismantle FISA courts and there won't be much to keep the intellience agencies to spying on any American they choose.

Sadly, it might offer the only way out of the vitriol. A lot of countries do this from time to time. When a leader gets too far out of whack, they military will put everybody in timeout, then let things resume. Ecuador did this in the 90s, and it worked out well for them at the time. Egypt did this after the Arab Spring. The new government was on a rampage, the military set them aside and elections were held.

I don't think it would work in the US. I think such a request would have to be made by a large group of governors from both parties, that may be the only way such a situation would end well.

Excellent post. Don't think it would easily work either, just think it best way out. But you correctly listed how it works, and that it does happen. Brazil's done it too. In this scenario if the Trump admin somehow took the Obamians (Pelosi, Schumer, Brennan, etc) out of office with them via such a "timeout" the Republic would have a real chance at rebooting and recovery. Even the old jokes about Mattis would apply --because he is not seen as a Trumper but is almost certainly not ComIntern.

Names from the Capitol attack are now being added to the no fly list pending further investigation.
