What city? If you're rather not say, can you at least share the population? Trying to get an idea of how bad 100 is. Although no matter how big your city is, 100 is really bad.policywonk98 said:
Just had a scary conversation with our city councilman. Something that makes sense, but it didn't quite register until now. I was asking him why the eateries were just trickling closed. There had been a few notable ones but nothing crazy yet.
He said because property owners have been deferring rent for 9 months. But they arent going to forgive it. In 2021 most restaurants will be required to pay almost double the rent in order to pay current rent and 2020 differed rent. Half of the ones in the higher rent areas of the city wouldn't be able to do that if they were allowed to be open 100% much less 25 and 50% capacity. There will easily be 100 closures in our city just in the first few months of 2021.
Sounds like it would get ugly in 2021...but.... The Fed bailout will likely happen and probably the crony capitalist $4 trillion version that saddles our children and grandchildren with even more depression level debt once the music stops for the USA.

Here in Dallas my buddy that cuts my hair has this same deal. His landlord cut and deferred his rent until next year but he will have to make it up. He's just trying to bank as much cash as he can right now to cover it when it comes due.policywonk98 said:
