May the blood my brothers and sisters shed in defense of this great nation never be forgotten. May their sacrifices of time away from loved ones, blood, sweat, tears, and lives not be in vain. May America continue to remember these great people who served so we can have Liberty. It is my prayer that any and all fraud that was perpetrated on this great nation be found out and those responsible be brought to swift and harsh justice. May the American citizens honor these great patriots in history by fighting for their rights and refusing to to give an inch.

A guy I sort of knew, a lance corporal in the marines, died in Iraq almost 15 years ago while being point on a patrol

I'll never forget how older generations of marines who lived in the area, and never knew the guy, showed up to the funeral. The deceased was the eldest son of an immigrant family that didn't speak much english, and yet they stood in line to pay their respects to him and the family.

Looking back, it was pretty cushy. My MOS school was there. It was a short stroll from our barracks to the beach. Of course no boot Marine could resist all the junk shops in Oceanside.
