Is CGI video a possible threat?

I was just thinking about the October Surprise, which we all know will come at some point during the month, and I wonder if CGI could be used to create a completely fake video with Trump saying or doing something that would greatly damage his standing.

For example, how hard would it be to generate a video with him saying the "N-word" and throw it out there as an example of his supposed racism caught on tape? The president would deny it, of course, but I am afraid a believable fake video would overpower his denials.

Is this still too far-fetched for 2020?

Not far-fetched at all.

A lot of crazies in the tech industry with access to very good deepfake AI.

There is always a way to tell if something is CGI and not authentic. Of course, some idiots would still believe it.

There is a Netflix movie that has an intelligence agency under a govt. (I think Spain), manufacture a riot against themselves so that they could steal digital currency from a bank. One scene shows them making a video of cops beating up a rioter, but it was all staged for effect. I wouldn't think anything is impossible at this point.

Trump is the most surrounded and viewed person on this planet. There is very little people don't know about him. If someone did, it would likely backfire like the recent fake stories about him.

Deep fake will be a problem in the future, period.

THIS. We are the last generation to be able to even casually trust video and audio. There may eventually emerge a way to authenticate-guard a stream that is hard to fake, something like paper currency has, as the market usually comes up with a counter to anything. But it will be a while.

It's probably a problem now and the incidents are just not yet known.

Of course the catch-22 is it is very difficult to think of anything Trump could say or do that would be more damaging than the CRT-Marxism and Green New Deal the Democrats are embracing.

But the problem of a forged video is possible--- however, the ability to be fool-proof and be sure there was no other video or record disproving it, or witness, is far trickier. Probably not the route they will try to go.

I think it would be probably pretty hard to convince people it was legit.

They'd basically have to find and alter a video of him never seen before. Other than that it'd be pretty easy to debunk it.

I saw a series on the Peacock channel and based in Britain.
They were changing live feed security cameras in London to frame people.

Have photoshopped images become "a big problem?"
