These videos appear on Twitter or Facebook within 5-10 minutes. Within an hour, they are blasted all over the world. No way for the police to get anything useful out as quickly as the lies spread.

Have you ever tried to get a copy of your police report? How ridiculously long does that take?

But what if these body cams uploaded to the cloud immediately, so within 5-10 mins the unedited footage could be put up on twitter.

Then you have to competing narratives coming out at about the same time and the potential to inoculate some individuals against the false narrative. And the additional knowledge that in so short a time the police could not have edited the footage in their favor.

We could add a camera crew and broadcast it live to the nation on TV to ensure officers are accountable. We could call it "Live Police Department"

i would be open to making this a requirement for facebook and twitter if they want to keep their platform status.

If someone uploads an edited video, the video needs to be labeled that they have detected that the video has been edited.

although this does not solve the problem of people who upload the last 30 seconds of an incident that completely removes the preceeding 5 minutes of antagonizing, threats, and violence.

If I were a cop in today's climate I would honestly quit. They can't win for losing.
