Technocracy.news is owned and operated by PatrickWood, an author and speaker who has expressed negative views about mandatory vaccinations, climate change, and technocracy, or the belief that society should be governed by technical experts.

or should we say only technical experts who disagree with him.

I for one will continue to support peer reviewed articles.

So much bs on both sides making this a lightning rod. It does help contain droplets which propagate spread. But they are far from some fully effective measure. And a lot of people don't wear them correctly which makes them less effective.

Your point and the vast amount of info coming out of the CDC, WHO and NIH is owned by Bill and Melinda Gates.

I happen to agree with Patrick on this, but in reality all that is irrelevant. They site a ton of papers and docs at the end of this.

I find this particular statement reality, regardless of who the author is>

Airflow around masks

Masks have been assumed to be effective in obstructing forward travel of viral particles. Considering those positioned next to or behind a mask wearer, there have been farther transmission of virus-laden fluid particles from masked individuals than from unmasked individuals, by means of "several leakage jets, including intense backward and downwards jets that may present major hazards," and a "potentially dangerous leakage jet of up to several meters." (8) All masks were thought to reduce forward airflow by 90% or more over wearing no mask. However, Schlieren imaging showed that both surgical masks and cloth masks had farther brow jets (unfiltered upward airflow past eyebrows) than not wearing any mask at all, 182 mm and 203 mm respectively, vs none discernible with no mask. Backward unfiltered airflow was found to be strong with all masks compared to not masking.

Does he own the Library of Congress, too? How about the Liberty Bell? The Declaration of Independence?

He's wealthy, so he must own everything. Right?

wearing a mask and staying 6 feet apart "help" in the same sense that a bandaid on a sucking chest wound "helps"

the real key to avoiding this virus washing your hands with soap and water

But you can't fear monger with "this virus is easily defeated by soap and warm water" you can't visibly reinforce fear with it.

My doctor (MD) says that masks are useless. I suspect he's not the only medical professional out there who shares that viewpoint.

Surgical masks were in use and proven effective in preventing the spread of diseases (from doctor to patient) since the early 19th century, long before the CDC, WHO and NIH were in existence. That information is not disputed.

And yet I will venture he wears one if he is in surgery.

Here's claim #4:
Quote:

This 2019 study of 2862 participants showed that both N95 respirators and surgical masks "resulted in no significant difference in the incidence of laboratory confirmed influenza." (4)

But when you go to the study itself, the study was about the difference between n95 respirators and surgical masks, not about masks versus no mask.
Quote:

In this pragmatic, cluster randomized clinical trial involving 2862 health care personnel, there was no significant difference in the incidence of laboratory-confirmed influenza among health care personnel with the use of N95 respirators (8.2%) vs medical masks (7.2%).

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2749214

For claim #7, the piece does conclude that masks were not effective against the common cold. But the study also concluded that it involved 32 participants split into two groups (one in each group got a cold), that a larger study was needed.

Between a flat-out lie in one and a misleading conclusion in another, I would call this article fake news.

A few weeks ago, there was a list of studies going around on this forum about how face masks were completely ineffective. So I took a look at them. Oddly enough, a number of them were comparing different masks, not masks to no mask. Of the entire list, I don't remember if any of them actually supported the claims that they don't work.

Studies can be made to support any position the author wants, including mass forced self suffocation.

Even if masks work, we don't wear them in the places the virus actually spreads... home, family get togethers, and when young people party.
