Does he own the Library of Congress, too? How about the Liberty Bell? The Declaration of Independence?OPAG said:Quote:

Your point and the vast amount of info coming out of the CDC, WHO and NIH is owned by Bill and Melinda Gates.
Surgical masks were in use and proven effective in preventing the spread of diseases (from doctor to patient) since the early 19th century, long before the CDC, WHO and NIH were in existence. That information is not disputed.OPAG said:Quote:

And yet I will venture he wears one if he is in surgery.Little Rock Ag said:
My doctor (MD) says that masks are useless. I suspect he's not the only medical professional out there who shares that viewpoint.

This 2019 study of 2862 participants showed that both N95 respirators and surgical masks "resulted in no significant difference in the incidence of laboratory confirmed influenza." (4)

In this pragmatic, cluster randomized clinical trial involving 2862 health care personnel, there was no significant difference in the incidence of laboratory-confirmed influenza among health care personnel with the use of N95 respirators (8.2%) vs medical masks (7.2%).
A few weeks ago, there was a list of studies going around on this forum about how face masks were completely ineffective. So I took a look at them. Oddly enough, a number of them were comparing different masks, not masks to no mask. Of the entire list, I don't remember if any of them actually supported the claims that they don't work.HTownAg98 said:

But when you go to the study itself, the study was about the difference between n95 respirators and surgical masks, not about masks versus no mask.Quote:

For claim #7, the piece does conclude that masks were not effective against the common cold. But the study also concluded that it involved 32 participants split into two groups (one in each group got a cold), that a larger study was needed.
Between a flat-out lie in one and a misleading conclusion in another, I would call this article fake news.
