Where is president Michael K. Young hiding ? Why hasn't he been more pro-active on the Sully decision ?

President Young, gets paid big bucks to make big decisions and appointing a committee sends the wrong
message to the world. It sends a message of deferral and procrastination which hurts A&M's brand / image.
It promotes a racists image that A&M is NOT pro active on social reform and WELCOMING ALL STUDENTS TO OUR CAMPUS.

Texas A&M is one of the largest universities in the world we deserve better than that.

If you have to use the committee approach it should be fast a couple of days of discussion and then put it to a vote the longer it takes to get a decision the more it hurts Texas A&M's image and the students.

I don't think he is hiding on a board to discuss SPORTS!!

The decision will be made the day before the ACU game. People will be mad, but hey, lookie over there, football!

Probably not even in the state, he has such disdain of the people here.

Young also knows that football and in-person classes is not going to happen, so he's avoiding this to ensure that we families pay up before he pulls that plug.

Michael Young, former Rangers 2B, SS, 3B, 1B, and DH, would make a better A&M president than Michael K. Young.

He promptly made a response to ICE's decision yesterday, but he can't be bothered to talk about anything else.

He was so offended by the ICE/international student policy that he sent a message out within a day. He was so offended by the vandalism to Sully on campus that he still hasn't directly addressed that.

He most likely sides with the haters why would yoh want him to be proactive in deciding?

He's tied up writing his long and heartfelt apology to current/former Texas A&M students for telling the world how terribly racist we all are.

After thoughtful meditation he realized a mistake had been made in his previous determination that we are an evil and hateful group after ONE incident that is now known as a hoax. Surely that's what he is doing right now.

Seriously with what I assume is a shat-ton of contribution money at stake, if he doesn't do this soon the BOR will do what they should have done a long time ago. Further if Sharp does not make a public statement about this I feel he should get the boot too.

well this ordeal has opened their operation up for scrutiny. Esp with some claims by former employees.

I can understand why they don't want their site used to organize a protest or retaliation of any kind from any side from a legal aspect.

but their business is based on access to 15-22 year old athletes. So I can see how the will side with things that keeps that access open. And I'll leave it at that.

I don't believe that to be true at all. They're trying not to become a target. This is their livelihood. Nothing more.

No win situation for Young...no academician these days can come out against the left wing mob and survive in that world...and he'd be fired tomorrow over the blowback from the Aggie big cigars if he came out against the statue.

Apparently he's chosen the safest path for now: Silence. Maybe the whole idiotic situation will lose its steam before it comes to a head. Lets see how long he can hold his position
