Howdy, Ags,
Last week, I received an e-mail that really tore at my heart. Sunday, a week ago, a family from McKinney was visiting family in Little Rock. The mom, son (age 4) and daughter (age 8) hit a tractor while driving. It was either that or plunge into some body of water. In the accident, the mom broke her ankles, the daughter was severely cut by her seat belt (enough that she had to have major surgery to repair her injuries and she also fractured her spine) and the son had to receive CPR on the scene. He is still on a ventilator a week later with a broken neck and is paralyzed. He is in a coma and they don't know the full extent of his injuries as he still has some swelling. He is in such critical condition, it is not known if he will live. The mom will have surgery this Friday to repair her broken legs. She has withheld from surgery this long as she does not want to leave her kids at the Children's hospital there in L.R. to care for herself.
The hardest part of all of this, I imagine, is that they just lost their five month old son to SIDS on Christmas Eve. He would've been one last month. Now they face the real possibility of losing another child.
The parents are Chad and Carmen, the daughter is Sara and the son is Jason. At last word, if Jason survives, then it will be months before he will be stable enough to be transferred back to Texas . This means that Chad will be missing lots of work, and Sara will be missing school. Just today they received another bill for their baby's death back in December, so be sure to pray for their financial needs as well.
If you want to send a note to this precious family, please send mail to:

Please pray for the McCunes.
