I'm sure lots of sports fans have prayed to God to help their team win over the years. We also pray before every football game at Kyle. Does he listen? Does he care? Does he agree with the DH rule? What about interleague play?

i've actually asked this of a couple of different priests in jest. One was shocked and sniffed "God's priorities are so much greater than that." The other laughed and responded that God is interested in all our endeavors so why the heck not. Neither one of us could understand the success of OU though.

I have a hard time imagining God, if he does exist, taking an active interest in the outcome of sporting events.

Just once though, I would love to see the losing team blame God. He always gets the credit by the victors...

God takes pleasure in His creation utilizing their gifts. I know it isn’t biblical, the Chariots of Fire has an awesome quote: “When I run, I feel God’s pleasure.” (or something to that effect.)

That said, I doubt God gives a flip who wins on Saturday.

Not only does God watch Sports but Vince Young is his quarterback. He slew the mighty trojans and brought the crystal trophy back to Texas.
