I was being sarcastic with the fact that a poster had made the claim that proof of the authenticity of the bible was given as:
"the great number of "little coincidences", or things that point to/parallel/foreshadow something else. The way it all fits together"
Which could be said for any well written book.
I can see how my comment might have come across that way... but you have to keep in mind that the Bible is made up of 65ish books, written over the course of 700-800 years. Yet, as a whole it still manages to be considered a "well written book" (by you, indirectly!).
Also, I am in no way stating that
the proof of the Bible's authenticity is because of its great number of "types"... I believe that the only "proof" of the Bible comes in the God-given grace to believe in what it says. It's just that, in the face of recent accusations about the Bible's historical accuracy and questionable canon (most of which are overblown), it is comforting for me to see the ways in which it all fits together.
Thanks for your response, though, I needed to clarify my point.
