My wife and I began going there and really like it and the pastor and the teaching from the bible.

I especially like the fact that the preacher always says something like: I am a preacher and teach you the word of God, but please don't take my word for everything I say, Instead look it up in the bible yourself to solidify the truth

There's a lot of Grace churches... if you mean Grace Presbyterian off the toll road, I grew up there and love it.

If you meant Grace Community off of the Gulf Freeway, I've been there. Since you live in Pearland, I am assuming you mean Grace Community although I guess Grace Presbyterian wouldn't be too far of a drive. I have been to Grace Community on a couple of occasions. I know many of the youth who attend there and they seem to be pretty grounded in Scripture. Through speaking with people that have been associated with the school that they run, I have gotten the impression that the pastor wants to run every single ministry in the church and seems to have a CEO mentality when it comes to the behind the scenes stuff. I know that it negatively affected the school greatly because he is not a trained school administrator yet he still had to have ultimate authority on every single decision. I have not been in a few years and I hope that what I have been told is not true anymore. If anyone from Grace would like to give me a "true" account of the church, please do so. Once again, I have no first hand knowledge of him, but simply some concerns that have been expressed to me by a few folks who I trust.

Sounds like typical church gossip to me ...

That church (which I don't attend) has produced good fruit ... I'd go with the fruit. If you are looking for a perfect church or a perfect pastor, you'll need some "looking stamina" to last you until the eastern sky splits.

I pass by Grace Community Church every day on the way to work. Never been, but I can tell they have an awesome indoor playspace!
