I'm officially slated on the Chapel Schedule now to teach a class for soldiers who have recently become Christ followers. I have pretty much everything I need, except the study Bibles. I'm using the Starting Point Bible (NIV) specifically designed for new Christians and recommitting believers.

If anyone would like to sponsor a study Bible for one or all of the soldiers who will be attending, please email me asap, as the class starts next Monday. I'm anticipating 10 in the first class, possibly up to 20....

Won't Amazon send the Bibles direct to Iraq? What's the address? That might be the quickest and simplest? Can someone provide the address, please?

For all you Ags, that are helping out. Thank you. Approx. 40 of these Bibles were carried to chapel last night. Even on the way, one of the civilian ladies, who did not have a Bible of her own, was very pleased to receive one. The Word is getting out and reaching folks. It is a mission field right here on the base. LSA Diamondback and FOB Marez are a major hub.

A news blog has picked up the story. The more people that know, the more soldiers and contractors can be reached with the gospel.

Also, one of the editors at Zondervan contacted B and related to him that editors at Zondervan had prayed that their work on the Bible would be able to bless soldiers in Iraq as it was originally released in towards the beginning of the war.

Thank you all. Please continue to pray for the soldiers and civ. contractors and their families. Also, pray for the Iraqis, that would they would be open to learning about Christ and the Bible and pray for the local Christian church here. It was surprising to learn how many Christians there are in the local area. Mosul is located near the ruins of Nineveh; the provonce is called Ninewa. Pray for peace and wisdom in the Iraqi govt. leadership.

Yep. There are six chaplains on both bases...the other chaplains have word on what's going on at the Chapel at Morez, and are requesting more Starting Point Study Bibles. We can give away as many as we can get. Demand for these here is very high.
