I was at service yesterday morning. We had a combined service (traditional/contemporary) at our United Methodist Church here in Rogers, AR due to us celebrating paying off our church mortgage. I will admit that although I've always been a Christian, my faith really started growing about 4 years ago. I've had ups and downs in my life and in my marriage and becoming closer to God has helped me tremendously. More recently, in 2024, I was laid off from my dream job and forced to return to a company that I said I'd never work for again. They have effectively broken me down to nothing and it has taken its toll on me. Finding something new has been extremely difficult. I have an iron in the fire currently and the Lord has kept that door open for me, as I wait for a call this week.
Long story short, during service, my wife and youngest got up to go to the restroom during songs (my 5 year old does it every single time). Anticipating them coming back, I felt a hand touch me on the back so I turned around to see if someone else was wanting in our row or if my wife and daughter were back. It was neither. I got chills and had a feeling come over me that I've never felt before. The Enemy tries to get into my head a lot and I don't let him. I keep pushing forward and trusting God. Maybe this was him telling me that my anguish is soon to come to an end. It was a peaceful and happy feeling that I won't soon forget. To God all the glory!
