Well, to be fair, nothing in much of the speeches and comments from many of their speakers is even close to a Christian message, In fact much of it goes directly against Christ's teachings.

The problem is, people have come to idolize their politics to the point that they will now overlook what once would be the obvious rantings of people who lack faith and compassion...or at minimum, class.

I may agree with conservative policies, but we have set the bar for what we will over look in character flaws so low that the bar is buried. We've reached a point where we convince ourselves that a person who in any other context would be viewed as antithetical to religious morals is not only okay, but worthy of almost idolatrous praise.....all because we believe the ends will justify it.

For anyone who is a parent, would how would you explain the comments by this comedian to your kids? They're okay? They're bad but they're just joking and its adult humor? Or, its never okay to describe any entire group of people this way?

All the previous things are serious matters and shouldn't be yawned at and neither should this. And BTW, our nominee is still cool with some slaughter of unborn life and won't defend it. Just so we're clear with who is also yawning.

While I agree that the comedy routine left a lot to be desired (cringe maxing as the kids say? lol), the point is that a poor joke is what it took bishops to take a stand.

Agreed. They should have engaged long ago. I just worry about the minimizing of any of it.
