Not sure how many people still watch him. Either his views have changed since being at Fox, or he's no longer having to tow the company line (which should tell you something about our current media state). But might be worth a watch to expand some horizons.

Who Carlson chooses to interview says a lot about the narrative he's pushing. This guy isn't Putin-level problematic, but he's very much pushing one side and minimizing what Hamas and the PLO have done. Carlson as a whole seems to be going far, far right for a new audience.

He makes all of 1 actual right wing mainstream talking head compared to a bajillion far left whackos, which we're just supposed to accept as normal.

It's nice to hear a different take once in a while. I know that we're supposed to believe that Ukraine is a slice of the USA in Central Europe, and Israel is God's promised land, but some of us get tired of being spoonfed propaganda from one side only, and like to hear an alternate take every once and again.

"Christians" that idolize modern Jews really need some alternative sources. Get off Newsmax and Fox for 5 min and read the Talmud.

"Read the Talmud."

Let me know when you've done the background work and then get through all 2,711 pages in the original languages.

So you've read the entire Bible in the original languages? Or can we safely disregard your opinions?

The translations of the Bible vary pretty wildly and if you're going to make sweeping claims based on it, it would be best to know the original language and context, no?

The Talmud isn't written in the same style or for the same reason as the Bible. It's a series of arguments, vignettes, hypotheticals, and debates with a unique structure. Translations lose a lot of the nuance and depth. But if all you have is a translation, go for it and come back after you've read all 2,711 pages.

I've read the Masoretic text in the Hebrew. You?

I should have said before that it's preferable to read the Talmud in the original languages and only after having done the preparatory study. Does that make you happy? Or are we about to start a 20 page pissing match about translations?

The amount of stuff we don't hear about in the MSM is interesting.

Arab convert to Judaism killed. There's other videos. Doesn't look like he ever posed a threat. But I guess he didn't look Jewish enough. And then a US embassy staffer, an Arab (not sure if Christian or Muslim), was just killed by an off duty police officer in Israel as well. Name was Jacob Toukhy. No details yet on what happened. Hopefully it at least gets an investigation.

I like Tucker but this interview was one his worst.
It was beneath his standards.

What makes you say that?

Some of this is pretty eye opening. I knew it existed before, but didn't think it was this bad.

The ultra orthodox make up only about 10% of Israel's population, and most practicing Jews in Israel think about them the way mainstream Christians in America think about the Amish. Atheism/agnosticism is actually more prevalent in Israel than America as a percentage of the population. The society as a whole is highly secularized. Tel Aviv is less religious than even most major European cities.

Nobody (or at least, nobody worth talking about) is defending Israel as a means of defending ultra Orthodox Judaism. The point is they are the only state in that part of the world that shares the same basic system of values and morals, socially/politically/economically, as the western economic powers. They have society that is objectively better than all of their neighbors and it isn't by accident. And we have a vested interest in propagating those sorts of societies, or at the very least helping to stop them from being destroyed.

Mossadegh and Zulfikar Bhutto are probably turning in their graves at this.

No, we do not support liberal, secular regimes in the Middle East and Asia. We support whoever furthers our interests, whether they are good leaders or despicable monsters. We support Shahs over presidents and generals over prime ministers where it suits us. We support countries whose citizens fly planes into our skyscrapers and invade countries that had nothing to do with it. Pretending as if we support societies because of moral or cultural kinship is just that - pretending.
