Posting this here because I believe it is the most uplifting movie I have seen since "Chariots of Fire"! So rare in this current world to see a movie or read a book so pure as "Boys in the Boat"!
You also get a real good dose of what the Great Depression meant to the " human condition" both negatively and positively. I highly recommend this movie.

What was impressive to me is the movie really stayed close to the book. Very sobering view of the world in the late 1930's; however, crushing poverty was the crucible for the "indomitable spirit" of these young men and their coaches to grow as triumphant athletes. Just plain and simple, made me so proud to be an American.
