That kind of proved my point, Soul Slave. Lackluster response over there too, other than the typical Politics board insults, and very little discussion. Substitute a situation like the one I made up in the OP, and it would be 100s of pages long.

Then I find it odd that it took so long for you to express your disdain for this law. If the state had instead mandated a minimum baptism age, or type of offering plate, or type of communion wafer, the outrage would have been immediate and loud.

I can't believe you think it needed to be said. Of course nobody supports tossing a minister in fail for performing a same sex "marriage" ceremony! Further, a minister who does so is NOT in violation of this statute!

Christian persecution in the US is laughable compared to the early church, the dark ages, and our current brothers & sisters in Christ residing in the Far East and Islamic countries.

Homosexual persecution is the US is also pretty non-existent compared to these lads and their Sharia law penal codes: Gay couples in Brunei could soon be sentenced to death by stoning

Yeah I don't really disagree with any of that. The good Christians of Uganda also have some pretty terrible things in store for their gay neighbors, so it's not just the Muslims doing backwards stuff like this.

Probably. People in general just love being dicks to each other. Still, for the most part in places where gays are singled out for bad treatment, either on a big scale (the Islamic world, Uganda) or a small scale (here), it's done in the name of pleasing some alleged higher being.
