That passage made me realize that I could be a Christian. I had already become convinced that there was a God and that Chrsitianity was true, but Saint Paul's confession made me understand that I didn't have to be perfect to be a Christian.

The 12 verses before this Joshua quotes God, telling the Israelites what good things he had done for them to give them their land. To read that recap, and then these 2 verses....mmm, mmm, good.

Ag in Co doesn't understand scripture, nor does he care to.

He far prefers to proselytze converts to his anti-Christian message, and he likes to engage in his evangelical zeal in the middle of thread about people'e favorite Bible verses.

For me, Saint Paul said it best...

Jesus took the cross for LOVE. HE has given anyone, who will accept IT, the HOLY SPIRIT.

I have a friend at church that liked to answer that question at school (seminary, I believe) with:
