No, but looking at the football schedule and when Burn is scheduled, they have a few options:

Start with Single Cut on Sunday Oct. 1st (30th: A&M vs. Tceh)

Start with Double cut on Saturday the 7th and Sunday th 8th (7th: A&M @ Kansas)

Start with Single Cut on Sunday 15th (14th: A&M vs. Misery)

Seems to me they'd start with a Double cut weekend, making the 7th First Cut and 15th Father-Son Cut.

That said, $5 says I'm completely wrong.

First cut weekend having a double cut is rough.

Fish go all out on the first day having no clue what they will feel like the next day, and numbers on the second day stink.

What's more, a bunch of exhausted, inexperienced fish in the woods isn't a recipe for safety.

It would naturally fall on November 18th if held on a Saturday.

That day is the 7th anniversary of the collapse of Bonfire '99. I do not know if the university plans to remember it at 2:42am or during that evening, but out of respect for the 12 who passed and the 93 injured, the burn has been moved so as not to conflict in any way.

Allow me to say that from a business perspective this is a TERRIBLE move. Students will already be gone for Thanksgiving. Turnout will be disastrously low.

Move it to Tuesday or expect to lose a LOT of money.

I find it very difficult to continue to support an organization that continually bemoans its financial situation yet can't make obvious business decisions.
