I think McFadden's were purple with maybe silvber or gold letters on them. Actually, now that I think about it, I can't remember ever seeing a McFadden pot.

Hobby's were a solid bright blue, with white letters I think.

When I was around the girls wore black pots with their name in white on the front and jcp on the back.

That was Hobby, McFadden wore Grey pots with their name in black tape on the front and Climber on the back.

My favorite were the ones with the kahki pots...little naughties that they were.

I wish I could still pick up girls by wearing old dirty clothes, smelling like diesel, drinking cheap beer, driving a big truck and dipping Copenhagen.

Funny, Spicoli.

While you're at it, why don't you also suggest they leave their pots green and paint their names in red on the front.

I was "officially" McFadden, and went through hell trying to find what our pots were like. (hence why I was made honorary Neeley cuz the person who took me out knew what those were like and was Neeley herself!!! Hell, I did more w/ Neeley than I ever did w/ my own dorm...kinda sad.)

A group of us finally found something and went with it. They're white with a pink stipe down the middle. Someone told us that the purple was for the chairs? We put names/nicknames in the front and year in the back. If she'd like to see what mine looked like, tell her to e-mail me at beth_ann56@hotmail.com. Actually, I will try to get a pic of mine posted.

If she is going out to cut, I can put her in touch w/ another girl that says she wants to come out too.

Yeah, those were the good ol' days, when you could walk into the Chicken, salty as hell in your grodes and no one would even bat an eye. Hell, the saltier you were, the easier it was to "pull wool."

Nowadays seems you gotta dress like a frat rat to hang in the bird and not get sneered at.

I miss going to class in grodes and watching people kinda shift away from you to other seats.

Nothing beat breakfast in grodes at Sbisa after a midnight to 6 shift.

The prim and proper early risers looked positively frightened.

By the way, say what you want about Sbisa, but damn their breakfast hit the spot after a night of stack.

That's no lie. The self-serve taco bar and endless supply of fresh waffles, omelettes to order, cereal and fruit just kicked butt after a night on stack.

Mmmm.... greasy omelettes... and pancakes.... endless pancakes.

northsidegreek06: To post pics on here you have to first put them up on a web site somewhere and then put the link in between some special image tags that will then display the image from wherever on the web you have them located. If you don't have a web site to upload them to, e-mail me and I'd be glad to host your pot pics up on our web site and then post the link here.

Give me an excuse to do some maintenance on our web site as well.

Looks like a girls DG pot.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
That's the pic she sent me, and hell if I can comment with any certainty on any pot design save for ours and a few dorms that we were usually on shift with or cut near on a regular basis. In all honesty, I don't really remember what most of the girl's dorm pots looked like since in my observations of the girls out there I rarely made it that high.

Nevertheless, wasn't DG a maroon stripe?
northsidegreek06
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yes, there's a DG girl at cut this year - she swung on Bonfire and if I am not mistaken hers is maroon.
slacker00

Yes, DG had a maroon stripe.

Thanks for the confirmation about DG having a maroon stripe. Good to know I haven't gone senile just quite yet.

old yeller, did I read right? Hog yellow for '90...I 'member you. Good to know that you're still in CS, but are you a proff? My times change...Don't know much about these boards (do you put up your names??) I was the first Truck Pot from Walton...drop me a line and maybe we can hook up next time I'm up for a game.

Adios,

Yep, you read right. I was OCA yellow for Bonfire '90. And yes, I'm still here in Aggieland teaching and such, got a pile of 114 exams sitting right next to me waiting to be graded.

First Truck Pot from Walton, huh? Unless I am mistaken about who was from where in that line, that would make you the Walton yellow for Bonfire '89 right?

Feel free to drop me a line at either e-mail address above, or on the message board over on the Hog's web site. If you remember George, you can find him on our little message board there.

BTW, whenever you come up for a game, you can usually find me in the Bird afterwards along with most of the other ol' b@st@rds.

That's where I generally run into everybody from "back in the day."

No, I was a jrp for the 89 fire, but both yellow pots from Walton for 89 and 90 were reda$$ guys...in fact, all Walton YPs were pretty red...I saw your home page and I will try to find George, I would like to see if he could fill me in on the location of my former roomie.

I've thought about going to the Bird for the 3 games I've made it to this year, but the line is out the dang door, plus I figured I wouldn't know anyone anymore so I blew that off. Next time I'll try harder.
oldyeller
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Oh, now I know for sure who you are. Didn't remember that you were from Walton. And no wonder you remember me, for the '89 fire pretty much all we did was load, so we saw a lot of each other that year. Think we were only in the woods for first cut and Hog log that year.

Hell, I first learned to put in penny sets one night while you were walking perimeter. Everyone gave me grief after that, said I was "hollywooding" cause I was just a lowly fish sitting up on the third stack cross ties with George and Walt tightening up stack.

If you make it into the Bird, you'll usually see at least a couple of old pots in town for the game. The Crocker yellow for Bonfire '90 is usually there after every game, and a couple of the Dunn pots from around that time are generally there too. Every once in a while Stroh even turns up there.

And here's another web site that might interest you: www.walthudson.com.

THE SPOON ME GIRLS ROCKED!

I was running through the woods and heard some girls giggling. I stumbled upon some little tradtion where the Spoon Me Girls and a few others were lined up, trausers dropped, and peeing. They were a tad embarrassed when I caught them. But they promised to give me the pics - which never happened.

That's great, yeller...would like to talk to Walt, but looks like the site hasn't been updated since '02...any news on that guy?

Keep up the good work, and try to show these folks that are trying to keep the fire burning the things they need to know...BTHOB
oldyeller
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah, Walt hasn't updated that site in a while, but I believe the e-mail address on that site should still be valid so you might be able to reach him that way. The last I heard he was still living in San Antonio, was married, and trying to make it as musician. Haven't talked to him in a while. I need to drop him a line.

George is married with three kids and living in Michigan. I haven't really talked to him in a while, but he checks in on our board every couple of weeks or so.

And I do what little I can to pass on the knowledge of how things used to be. Plan on going out to cut this weekend to see what's what.
