Not a big video game type of guy but some of these I remember:

CLOAK AND DAGGER was a cool movie that I remember had a arcade/video game out at the same time. Does that count? In this vein is also TRON.

The one I'm really looking forward to is HALO. Peter Jackson is producing and Alex Garland, who wrote the novel THE BEACH and the screenplay of 28 DAYS LATER, is working on the script.

Why hasn't anyone made a movie out of STAR CASTLE yet?

One that intrigues me, and they better not **** this up, is Metal Gear Solid. Kojima approved it's being made into a movie this past E3. As far as the best video game movie goes, it depends on how you judge it:

-Truest to the source material: Advent Children (but then again, it's a direct sequel to the game)
-Best overall movie: Silent Hill

Anything directed by Ewe Boll is automatically going to be a stinker even before it hits the print. I can't wait to see what kind of crapfest Dungeon Siege is going to be.

Silent Hill (the movie) was good. Very creepy and genuinely disturbing.

The first Mortal Kombat was pretty good (the sequel ranks as one of the worst movies I've ever seen).

Resident Evil (the first one) was good. The sequel was not.

TRON rocked. The video game (one of the greatest ever) was made to coincide with the release of the movie.

I think the list of awful video game movies is so long that the decent ones really stand out.
