Sneaky Pete, Wednesday nights at the Flying Tomato.

The local live music scene was somewhat lacking during my time at A&M.

Resting and peace were not two of our stronger suits.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned "Wildfyre" (I think that's how they spelled it.) God, those guys sucked.

skylar blue... they were pretty popular. what a craptacular band.

i liked fly, mordecai.

but feeding 5000 was probably the biggest local act in my day. i never heard them, probably because i was told by lots of people that they were kinda d o u c h e y.

I never saw them in person but i remember hearing a lot about a band called 4 Hams on Rye that played all over BCS in the late 80's.

I'll also second Sneaky Pete at the Flying T on Wednesday nights.

The F5000 guys never came across as dou chey to me even though they knew I thought their music sucked.

I still have NO idea how they got a beer company to sponsor them.

Frick...I have the opposite opinion of you.

I absolutely HATED fly, moredecai and loved Skylar Blue.

I had the drummer for fm in an English class one semester and he annoyed the f*** outta me.

The only local band I ever heard of at A&M was Agent Orange & the Defoliants. I have not idea if they were any good - never actually saw them.
Fly Army 97
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Last Free Exit...JT and the boys could jam.
Reckless Pandhandlers - They had that harmonica player who was in a wheelchair but always managed to drink out of a pitcher with a 3 foot straw.
Floor was a small act I liked.
Throwaway People - Pretty good blues band. Great drummer. Pretty decent guitar player. Forgot their names, but they were cool guys to hang with at the bars.

I remember seeing a sign or two announcing Haywood's last show in C.S., but other than that, I've never heard of anyone on this list (except REK and Lyle Lovett, of course).

I guess I didn't listen much to "local bands" these last four years.

i told Scott and Aaron from F5K that they sucked and that their cover of "Land Down Under" was horrible and that they should never do it again.

and yet they were always super cool to me. later when i would run into them in austin, they'd always buy a round of shots. one time they even invited me and my friend out to their house for an after-party. I never liked their music, but i can't say a bad thing about any of those guys. I actually went out to a couple of their shows at Lucky Lounge just b/c they were always cool to me.

absolutely great cover and most everyone i know agreed until aaron quit playing the violin for them to be more mainstream.

their first CD had some decent stuff but they're absolutely terrible now. i've gotten dunk and told scott that their "trucks and cars" song is maybe the worst song i've ever heard in my life.

i see them every now and again in austin and have had to stay at their place out at the lake. i make sure to bathe as soon as possible every time i leave.
