He had a neat story about Russell Crowe. Turns out Crowe covered his One Good Year on his album.
Slaid said he and his band played a small club in Toronto back in April and Crowe showed up and bought them several rounds of drinks and enjoyed the show. He said later on Crowe pulled him aside and pulls out a huge wad of cash and stuffs it in Slaid's shirt pocket. He said he hoped he didn't offend him and told him he knew what it was like touring around in a band as he had lived that life well before he was a movie star and that he enjoyed their music and wanted him and the band to live a little a little better the next few days.
So I guess Crowe is not all about throwing phones at hotel clerks.
