May be old news, but I just noticed that he's listed as being cast as Lex Luthor for Superman Returns (2006) on imdb.com.

I'm looking forward to this. The director did Usual Suspects, so maybe they have a relationship.

Ooh, another pairing of those two? Can't wait.

Singer did a very good job with the X-Men franchise, so high hopes for this.

Whats interesting is the unknown as Superman. That takes some guts. Batman Returns, though, I think will be better, because the bar is so incredibly low after Tim Burton left.

My friends and I were joking around when we saw the Batman Returns trailer at the movies the other night that the studio was trying to forget the utter POS that was Batman and Robin and had to start over.

And to keep this thread on topic, Kevin Spacey is an excellent choice for Lex.

AGnBCS, I can't see him as the Vulture or Venom. Maybe Carnage if he can act crazy like BP in 12 Monkeys. Maybe they'll have him take over the role of Dr. Conners/the Lizard. Definitely, he won't be the Rhino. Maybe the Shocker or Electro. I'm running out of classic villains for S-M.

Not to totally derail the Superman thread, but ...My personal comic book nerd is guessing Electro or Venom for Church.

As far as the unknown for Superman, wasn't Christopher Reeves fairly unknown when the original Superman movie came out. I was talking with the same comic book nerd, who said that the new guy will have big shoes to fill. I personally think that this new generation of fans will think of him as Superman the way we think of Reeves as Superman. Sort of the way my generation thinks of Roger Moore as James Bond, but the previous generation will always think of Sean Connery as the true James Bond (although I'm inclined to say they're right).
