The other thread reminded me of this little insight about Mr. Peart.
I'm reading Neal's autobiography "Ghost Rider."
[darn good reading that takes you into his most inner being(baby soul) after losing his daughter in a car accident, his wife to cancer(all in the same year) plus some other setbacks that would drive most men to insanity]
In the book he states that he failed his motorcycle license test three times. He just couldn't get the coordination down between shifting gears and accelerating.
I thinking to myself, you are one of the best drummers ever, and you don't have enough coordiation? With his insight, he reasons that the fact that he's acually not very coordintated makes him the world-class drummer he is. He calls it his"dis-cordination," each limb does it's own thing independentally of the other.
Interesting.
