The "airplane shirt" has been noted as one of DMB's most popular shirts ever and is only being rerun for the 12.8.98 Centrum pre-order.

ABOUT THE SHOW

12.8.98 was the second of a two-night stand which according to crew reports were shows that showcase a period of musical growth for DMB in which set list standards were transcended into virtually new songs.

The 12.8.98 show starts with a smoldering version of Seek Up and moves into DMB's rendition of Linus and Lucy which features really nice key work from guest keyboardist Butch Taylor. A venerable version of Rapunzel gets things really smoking with stellar sax work from LeRoi. Jimi Thing follows superb versions of Satellite and Don't Drink the Water, which also feature Bela Fleck. A traditional showstopper, Jimi Thing, doesn't miss with shining moments from LeRoi, Boyd and guest guitarist Tim Reynolds. A vigorous Stay follows Jimi and what happens next is what takes this show from memorable to legendary as Bela and fellow Flecktone, saxophonist Jeff Coffin, join in on an unforgettable #41. The ensuing dueling jams between Bela, LeRoi and Jeff nearly blow the doors off the venue, adding another highlight to a show that was already replete with great moments. The energy does not stop here with the So Much to Say/Too Much mix followed by Drive In Drive Out. Tripping Billies closes the show as Boyd ignites the stage with a volcanic solo. The two-song encore is a definitive treat with a beautiful rendition of I'll Back You Up featuring mellifluous harmonies from Carter and Dave. An electrifying version of The Last Stop ends the evening, building up with an extend intro and featuring Dave reaching a pinnacle on vocals. The Last Stop literally melts into a beautiful reprise outro to end the show. 12.8.98 signifies the reason why DMB has traveled to such peaks in the musical world today and has moved millions of fans with incredible live performances.

I'm thinking I'll stop buying the live shows...I have them all, but some of them are not coming off any different than the others. While there is a significant difference between Red Rocks and the rest....I just lost it for their live shows after this summer's show. They are all starting to blend into one another for me...guess I need a DMB break.

I think the Central Park concert is the best. But they may all sound the same too you but every set list is different and what makes each show unique. You could probably get this show for free on antsmarching.org but it wont be produced as well as the one they are selling.

If you haven't heard this show you must get this. This show is one of the best they have ever done, with 12/7/98 the night before slightly better, IMO.
