I'm sad.

He had a great career with some great songs. Wild and Blue is one of my favorites.

I think I'll go have some tequila.

Don't forget the original version of 'Down in Tennessee' {although Chesnutt has a nice cover}

Incredible comeback in the mid 90s after mostly being known for "Swingin'. Right in my A&M student time wheelhouse for Seminole Wind and Straight Tequila Night

I saw him live about 20 years ago. He was a remarkable singer, and a true legend.

It was quite a proud parenting moment a few weeks ago when my six year old started singing along with Straight Tequila Night in the car.

RIP.

As a kid he always reminded me of Dr. Teeth from the Muppets and I could never unsee it after that initial thought.

Straight Tequila Night reminds me of eating at a restaurant in Hallettsville on a roadtrip with my folks. The song was playing as I was eating a salad.

"K-13 is her favorite song, if you play it you might have a chance."

How many kids growing up these days will sadly never know that's a reference to a juke box and what a juke box is?
