Really enjoyed Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie. I'm not a huge homer for these guys. I've seen BlackBerry and I'll watch The Tony Show, so I'm familiar with Matt Johnson and company, but I didn't always totally love their style of comedy.
That said, this movie really won me over as it went along.
If you're a big Back to the Future fan, there's also a ton to love here. The whole movie is basically set to that score and the plot follows a lot of the same beats. There are so many little McGuffins and seemingly random details introduced along the way that end up tying together nicely. It's actually a really tight script. The movie moves at a great pace with very little downtime or dead space.
I'm also still not totally sure how they pulled off some of the 2008 scenes mixed with the modern-day footage. At times it almost feels like a found-footage movie where you're wondering what was actually filmed for this and what was somehow captured years ago.
Anyway, check it out on Hulu. It was a really good watch and one of the more unique and original comedies I've seen in a while
