Is anyone watching this? It's an eight episode crime thriller series starring Emmy Rossum as FBI Agent Alice Black, Lola Petticrew as the suspect, Scoot McNairy as Danny Kelly the NYPD cop, Quincy Tyler Bernstine as Nora Washington, Jake Lacy, and some great side characters with Steve Way, Rob Yang, Rob Delaney, and Campbell Scott.

Created by Elizabeth Meriwether (The Dropout, New Girl), the show is a crime drama loosely inspired by the 1987 film Black Widow. It follows FBI agent Alice Black as she hunts down a female serial killer whose victims are connected to a trafficking network.

Currently at 7.7 on IMDb and 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. Pretty strong early praise. Definitely worth checking out, IMO. This most recent episode was a banger.

My wife and I are watching. Enjoying it doesn't seem like the right words considering the tone of the show. But it's drawn us in and we're liking it. My kind of gritty cop show.

SPOILERS THROUGH EPISODE SIX. Looking forward to the finale and see how they land this one. The past episode was great and the collision course set for next episode is going to be great. The "I love you" between Alice and Danny was so heartbreaking considering the timing. Emmy Rossum completely killed it in that scene. Then it was so satisfying seeing Danny shut down Ed George's blackmail attempt in the car and threaten to put him on the curb the second his son's name was mentioned. Then the horror show at the Easton compound. Hope Davis delivered and you can finally tell why she took this role. The DNA under Isabelle's fingernails - guessing that belongs to Emma. Was she the one who actually killed her, or is she just covering for the family's depravity? Frank Choy's levity is much needed and I cackle with every scene he is in. Not sure who is going to make it out, or if there will be a season two, but I'm here for it.

Two episodes in and digging this. A bit gritty and I see this is heading in an uncomfortable way. Most likely I don't imagine justice will be had for the victims. But the acting is great, good detective work, and entertaining.

Really enjoying the show. Intense and gritty. It's a smart show which I appreciate. Acting and character development is top notch. Not necessarily an easy watch but doesn't get as heavy as it could which is nice.

I couldn't quite place the actress who plays Nora so I visited her imdb page and was reminded she played Brenda on the Chappelle sketch "When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong" as the woman who suspected her man of cheating and vandalized the car. Now when I look at her, all I'll be thinking is "I don't like people playing on my phone!"

I want to like this show but just cannot. It has the elements of a show I should like and, in general, I like the stuff Emmy Rossum has done. But something is off about her character or acting in this show that makes it hard to watch.

There is a character in this show that I just don't like seeing on screen. I thought they were a one and done, but they appear to be in more episodes. And for those reasons, I'm out.

Partially through episode 7. Episode 6 was really good. I find the show to be fascinating in that it is a heavy topic and a gritty show but it does a great job of not coming across as gross or overly dark or too gritty. It finds that balance. Definitely couldn't wait to see 7 after finishing 6.

Just finished all the episodes. Solid show. Agent Nora really makes this show. I didn't think she would make me laugh so much in a show like this.

Haha.
Don't act like you don't care what I do and what I think about shows.
I was being vague because I didn't want to come across as cruel or tacky. But the at home patient was too much for me.

Really good show. Can someone explain the ending where Alice logs on and there are all those downloads? I assume the fbi uploaded the videos to the internet to catch predators?

I thoiught it meant that the video has always been circulating on the internet and didn't exist solely on Easton's hard drive.

Yes, and what it hints to, in my opinion, is that in season 2, Alice will be hunting those in that list. She is the one that killed Jay Easton and in her interaction with Grace at the end in prison, that face she made said it all that she enjoyed "disposing" of him. That is my guess.

Very good show. I loved the Nora character. The scenes with the Hawaiian shirt, lol.

I might totally be mistaken here, but when they showed the list of people that downloaded it, wasn't the abusive cop/ex on that list?

I went back and watched that clip. The name "Masonn.." showed up on the list. I thought that was the guy, but his name is Marshall. I was mistaken. Sorry!

I was actually expecting something like that as soon as the names started to drop, do I don't think you were crazy to think it.
