I am not a foreign film buff, I absolutely hate reading subtitles and it requires an investment I'm usually not into.

This one absolutely pays off. One of the best horror/thrillers blending moral ambiguity, unreliable narrator, and multiple characters whose behavior can make them an angel, or a demon depending on how your view them.

It starts off a little odd, the main character seems like a bumbling slapstick lazy detective in an apathetic unit with no leadership, it morphs into a mix of "walking dead" "prisoners" and "Constantine"

Please someone watch this so we can talk about it

I'm intrigued. So, it's more zombie / supernatural violence horror? I can't handle sadistic violence like some of you can.

Super natural horror yes, it's not a zombie movie.

We saw it. It's good but I don't share the same enthusiasm for it as the OP; however, it's well worth a watch.

It was very good but I don't even really know what happened. I had to read up a bunch on it afterwards for theories/explanations

The director has a new movie coming out that's getting a lot of buzz and has Fassbender and Alicia Vikander in it

There's something about Korean horror films that just seem a bit goofy to me.

Very ambiguous, kinda whodunnit. Even at the end you're not really satisfied.

And, any movie with a dog getting killed with a pick WX is an immediate no-go.

Watched this one recently given the buzz around Hope coming out soon. Very unique and even my wife enjoyed it which surprised me. Certainly a movie that stayed on my kind for a while after watching it.

Yup, the Korean horror films just seem a bit goofy which dilutes anything scary.

After I read about it, it seemed better than it was when I saw it live.

Korea has a pretty long history with Christianity; pre-split Pyongyang was the Christian capitol of East Asia.

Just watched this last night in preparation for seeing 'Hope' since it's the same director. Pretty rare for a horror movie to actually disturb me and this one did. I really enjoyed it and the 'stupid cop' trope is something that I feel is SUPER common in Korean movies.

I had to sign up with "Fandor" on prime to see this movie, almost forgot to cancel.

saw it - good description of it OP. I liked it. Somewhat sad. Good twists.
