Really enjoyed the first episode. I love the look, vibe, campus setting, etc, and of course Carell in the lead. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Ep. 1 was better than i thought it'd be so will keep with it.

Through two episodes I'm really liking it so far. My only "complaint" is that does not at all feel like an HBO comedy. It definitely has more of an Apple/Hulu vibe. The closest HBO show I can compare it to is, I guess, Divorce from last decade, starring Sarah Jessica Parker, which only me and like eight other people watched. This has way more charm, though.

WB finally got tired of Apple taking all their Bill Lawrence wins.

This show should have gone to Apple+, really. (And WB has made many pretty pennies off selling his shows to them.)

Just wanted some clout out of that overall deal.

I thought last night's episode (episode three) was the best of the season so far. I laughed out loud two or three times, and it's really starting to find its groove overall.

Episode 3, did it drive anyone else crazy that he was called before a disciplinary board for using the term "white whale"? This is a liberal arts college and a writing course, but none of the students or faculty will call out that the blonde girl is crazy, and ignorant, for not understanding the metaphor?

He still gets a "verbal warning"? I guess we are to understand Dean Cameron is supposed to be lazy and incompetent, but can somebody like his peers stand up and just dismiss such garbage?

The "slip and grab"… I could maybe buy as requiring a second look.

I'm still amazed by the career path of Carell and how he overcame the shadow of Michael Scott.

Carell's signature bumbling gets a little old -- at least to me -- but this show is well crafted and funny. It's grown on me.

The actor who plays Dean Riggs is the same actor who played Matthew Broderick's friend from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." Another thing to make me feel old!

I'm actually enjoying the fact that this show is more tame on the language and nudity than most HBO offerings.

I've watched all the episodes so far and I can't figure out if I like this show or not. Definitely not on the level of Bill Lawrence's hits. I think maybe they're trying too hard to make the awkward comedy work on this show. I've really enjoyed John C. McGinley, Alan Ruck, Danielle Deadwyler, and the cop so far. I think the issue is I kinda can't stand the daughter, and I don't even really care at all about what's going on between her and Archie because she's so unlikeable. Also every time I see Phil Dunster all I can do is think it's Jamie Tartt, but it's not.

I love Carrell but hated this first episode with a passion for so many reasons.

professor has an affair on his wife with a student and is just sitting in the quad of the university making out with his adulteress?

President of small liberal arts college strips down in his office and opens the door, after making some harassing statement to his secretary?!

sure, that is realistic.
