Stated this many times. Honestly believe it is one of the greatest movies ever made. Literally a perfect movie in the way that Raiders of the Lost Ark or the Empire Strikes Back is. Even Spielberg himself said as much crediting Cruise for "saving Hollywood".

Nostalgia ridden Generation X "dad" film for sure. Takes itself only seriously enough to hit on the emotions but not go overboard. Cast is absolutely nails. Genuinely funny. No politics. Literally perfect.

Arguably the only false notes in that whole movie had to deal with the absurdity, pull you out of the movie for a bit, of "unnamed country."
