Might have to get this Latin Rock song as an import from Japan but Tribe of Gypsies "Mero Mero Mambo" does it for me. Also, I toured Japan with them in 2006 so I'm kind of biased.

Samba Pa Ti - Santana

This song was featured in the credits for the motion picture The Fountain, directed by Darren Aronofsky, my personal favorite director, screenwriter, and producer.

When the song starts, it sounds sort of late a little bit, it reminds me of a toddler, learning how to walk. You dont understand time, really, at that period.

As the song progresses, the melody becomes crisper, like the reality of time and what it does to us and everyone around us, especially to those that we love, is being realized and finally articulated. The last part is when we know what awaits us. My interpretation anyway.

This one has strong sentimental value for me, my Grandpa loved Chet Atkins and this one always stuck out to me as a little kid listening with him.



I've enjoyed this one from when I first heard it, I'll zone out working and listen to it 20-30 mins at a time.
