Watching this classic right now and was thinking this is one movie i wouldn't be upset with if they did a remake. Then I thought, what if someone made a Running Man show, not the plot from the book, but just a weekly show like the one from the book/movie? Each cold open could be a criminal doing a crime and getting apprehended, then the rest of the show is him or her going through the running man game. It would be treated like an actual game show. Think something like that could work?

Are there any other fake media inside media you'd like to see turned into its own thing?

Just googled it. Another Glen Powell flick, of course. I wish they'd gotten a game show host to play Killian, someone wholesome like Drew Carey and had him play an *******

The point of movies like this (and 1984, Idiocracy, Planet of the Apes, The Matrix, Terminator, Bladerunner, etc) is to say that society devolves to the point where the events of movie could happen. Generally, we should NOT want those things to happen. I'd choose a violent farce of a game show over the rise of the machines, however.

I think a Running Man game show would be cool, but don't use criminals and don't make the games to the death. Have just regular contestants who volunteer. I don't know how you would get a big enough set, though. You'd want some sort of maze like city, but also certain areas that are arenas. With enough money, you could come up with something awesome.

I wasn't thinking an actual game show like American gladiators, but a fictional faux game show with criminals to the death

I'd like to see a remake that is much closer to the book, and speaking of the Bachman Books, when is The Long Walk movie being released?

First R rated movie I ever saw. Off Hwy 31 in Longview with my older cousins and our dads. My mom pleaded with my dad not to take me, as I was around 6 or 7 at the time. Was one of the coolest experiences of my life. Felt like a MAN walking out of that movie with my big cousins.

If you've seen it in a movie, it's going to happen sometime.

There will be a rise of the machines. No doubt about it.

We're already seeing it.

Suprised there hasn't been some sort of American Gladiators reboot. There was alot to like about the original.

They could do a Death Race. Maybe cast Jason Statham.
