I just wanted to recommend this documentary. It's about a young man from Norway that passed away from Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He was an avid World of Warcraft player, and as he was wheelchair bound for much of his life, it became a large part of his identity. After he passed away his parents were contacted by a large number of players that were a part of his community. They had no idea what this game did for him, and what he meant to those he gamed with. As a parent it absolutely wrecked me, but it was also incredible to see his parents learn that he got to experience a lot of feelings they never thought were in the cards for him due to his disability. It's not an easy watch, but it's one of the best things I've seen this year.
