I have Youtube TV and me and my son may be on a game show next week.

How can I record and edit to it's scenes where it's just us?

I tested and tried to screen record on my iphone, but that is glitchy.

Ideas?

When you say you "may" be on it, does that mean you weren't called on down and just think you might be shown in the audience? Because I can probably edit an audience shot off of Paramount Plus for you.

How would you grab from paramount plus?

if its youtube tv, just load it on your computer, use the windows snipping tool, and record. Then you can use something as simple as windows clipchamp to edit or if you want more features, download capcut.

Ok..i did a screen record on my iphone and it was glitchy. i'll give that a try.

update:
Paramount Plus will let you screen record commercials, not actual programs.
Youtubetv will not let windows snipping tool record.

Yeah, YTTV used to let you screengrab and capture, but they disabled that a while back.

At this point the only thing I can think of is to point the iphone at the tv.

For fun, I just tried opening up our recording software we use for class (Echo360) while I had streaming video playing. Opening the program caused both YTTV and Disney+ to immediately stop playing. I'm sure there's some other programs out there that work, but they've definitely been proactive in making it hard for folks to capture their content.

I've done paramount+ and YTTV on my iphone and computer and both failed. Used screen record on my iphone and snag it on my computer.

Looks like best option is filming the TV.

Wasn't aware of that. I know youtube isn't yttv, but you can record youtube so I assumed it was the same.

There is a potential loophole, if you want to try this:

In your Chrome/Edge settings, disable Use hardware acceleration when available.

They use HDCP and other copyright protection methods (that are a combination of hardware and software) to prevent the screen recording.
