That image doesn't even have Dookie, The Blue Album, or Smash...

All three of which I would put over any of the albums in that picture.

Looking at the landscape of music and cinema, I feel like things are set up for another major alternative movement like we had in the early 90s. I feel like things are so over produced right now, it sucks out all of the creativity. It's much like the 80s (maybe worse now). All we are waiting for is the the spark to set things off.

1994 was the year the world decided to really move on from grunge, which was way more temporary than we realized. Rock music needed grunge in 1991, but it was a short-term fix with a few albums that became classics.

I must've missed that memo you received moving away from grunge.

My son is 30-years younger than me. Had my 30th HS reunion last year. Will be at the ND game and they're having some kind of 90s tailgate. All these movies and albums are turning 30. But yet I listen to and watch them as if they're currently popular. And I have also NOT received the memo about moving away from grunge.

I believe this is what some people call a mid-life crisis...

Music and big screen entertainment peaked in 1994. It's all been downhill since.

Spoke like a true Gen Xer.

Pop culture hasn't been interesting since around 200.

I started in the fall of '95, but remember seeing t-shirts that said something like, "Play the Aggies and lose…at least it won't be televised"

In my lifetime, 1991 was the best year for music and 1994 was the best year for movies.
