I'm not a big animation guy, but man does this look cool. Especially the opening title sequence, which was just released today and is embedded below (I kind of wish the whole series looked like that - or they at least gave us that option). Reviews have been excellent as well - currently 100% on RT - so I'm definitely looking forward to checking it out come Thursday...

How is it that this is an Amazon property but all the other DC animation is on Max?

From what I can gather, Warner Bros/Max of course initially had it, but ultimately passed (either before it was made or before it was completed) in favor of licensing it to Amazon. Basically, WB is desperate for cash, and a title like this (one that's not going to attract a ton of eyeballs) can either live on Max and bring in next to no new subscribers for them - or - they can license it to another streamer and make hard, immediate cash on it. In addition to being an idiot, Zaslav apparently isn't the biggest animation fan, and I wonder if the Gunn takeover/new DCU could have had something to do with it as well.

Definitely interested. Looks like Batman The Animated Series with a ton more grit. In!

Watched the first episode tonight. Thought it was good. Definitely not a kids show. Not sure how I feel about the Penguin being a woman.

Watched the first 3 episodes, really enjoyed them. I really like the atmosphere, I think it walks the line between young adult and adult really well, I like the voice acting for the most part. I'm somewhat of a Batman nerd and I don't mind most of the character changes so far. These stories have been told a million times so unless you want so and so committing the same crime for the umpteenth time you gotta play with the characters. Batman is the only one where I feel you can't stray too much, but the bat family is pretty open. I think the difference in Batman and Bruce is done pretty well.

Like TC, I wasn't much of an animation fan. But recently, it occurred to me that with all the CGI in the superhero movies (and the Spider animated movies), I might as well give animation a try.As of now I've seen almost every animated movie/series on Max...still working thru Kaley Cuoco's Harley and the Justice League series that I'm pretty sure used to be a Saturday morning cartoon...and I'm really enjoying them.

I'm only thru episode 3 of this new one, and I like it a lot. Like GI Bro, I'm a big Bat fan, and like he said, there's only so much that you can do with the usual cast of characters (Catwoman is smokin' hot, FTR), just don't mess with Batman. They've done a good job of that so far.
