Word is beginning to leak that the first footage is dropping Sunday, nearly a year in advance, for the new Brad Pitt F1 movie, which is director Joseph Kosinski's highly anticipated follow up to Top Gun: Maverick. With that, I can do TexAgs one better, and drop a few additional details you won't find anywhere else...

- There have been rumors that the movie was titled Apex, but I can exclusively confirm that it will instead simply be called F1.

- The teaser trailer is 90 seconds long and will premiere on ESPN just before Sunday's British Grand Prix (followed by an online release).

- The first poster drops Friday.

The movie itself releases in theaters and IMAX on June 27, 2025, and also stars Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Javier Bardem, with music by the great Hans Zimmer. I know a few details about the plot, and the way the movie was filmed, which I can't get into yet, but trust me when I say this thing is going to be awesome. If anything, it's incredibly rare nowadays for a trailer to release a year in advance, which only ever happens for Christopher Nolan movies anymore, if that tells you anything...

2 quick takes
1.) thats a lot of great acting in that cast, and a few from the show Rome which always deserves more credit.
2.) They should have done the teaser trailer with ZERO soundtrack, no queen song, just the sounds of the F1 car driving on the track

Maybe it's just because I'm a devoted F1 fan, but does anyone else think it looks pretty obvious that Pitt is driving an F2 car in that teaser? Don't get me wrong, the film looks great, but that APXGP car just doesn't look right to me. I looked it up, and apparently it is just a modified F2 car. Again, I am definitely looking forward to this movie, but the car just stood out to me as less than convincing and I was curious if anyone else felt that.

Yeah, it's pretty cool.

My buddy was on set/at the race today, and sent us two videos of what the filming looked like, right alongside all the real goings-on. I wish I could share them, but it's insane seeing the access they've been granted, and how right in the mix of it all they are. In everything but the actual, competitive driving, Pitt really is just like another driver at the race.

You are, indeed, correct about them using an F2 car (though it's slightly more complicated than that), which they cover in some detail in one of the questions above. Good eye. It sounds like it has more to do with the camera mounts than anything? I can't quite tell.

Yeah the chassis is mainly what I noticed as different, and they mention that's an F2 car part in that interview. Cool stuff in that article for sure.

Some of the shots look amazing.

Wish they had gone with the V10 era soundtrack though. No dialogue or score would have been needed at that point.
