That said, even though I already know this story well, this still looks pretty damn good.

Split into two parts/movies, Part 1 releases later this year, while Part 2 releases sometime in 2025.

I've seen the term "direct-to-video" pop up a couple times in regards to the release, but nothing concrete, and nothing about a theatrical or even a Max/streaming release. There's still no IMDb page for it, nor can I find a director, writer, producer... nothing. It's almost as if it doesn't exist, save for this trailer and a vague announcement at Comic-Con last year.

Also, yeah, the movie ending made way more sense than the comic ending, but there was a decent amount of backlash from uber-fans back in '09, so I'm guessing this version is the chance to "make it right" and go with the giant squid.

So on a scale of 1-10, how much will Alan Moore hate this adaptation?

Just watched this. Pretty amazing animation and faithful to the story. When the credits roll there is some interesting backstory. Those Koreans know how to animate. It's not spider verse quality animation but the korean team did a wonderful job making the animation movements very human like. Very appropriate and had the feel of the comic series.
