Speaking as someone who watched the original approximately 3 dozen times in college with my buddies, I'm not looking forward to this. It's bound to be less funny and tarnish the memory of the first one.

yeah I never understood why some folks put Waterboy on such a pedestal….for me it was just ok….had some funny moments but also is where some of the annoying "Sandler tropes" started in a lot of his worse comedies that were to follow…

Agreed. It's funny, but it's not on the same level as Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore.

It is not so much "intentional" as "not interested".

Same with Will Farrell. Only Will Farrell movies I have seen are Austin Powers, Zoolander, Megamind, The Lego Movie.

comedy movies and TV are my least viewed category, and always have been as I prefer action/adventure/scifi/drama genres.

Have never seen a single episode of Community, The Office, Parks and Recs, etc.

only TV comedies I have watched in last 20 years would be Friends (up to Season 8), all of Scrubs, Episodes, and South Park.

IMO, the key to Ferrell movies is giving them a couple watches. Anchorman went from "what the hell did I just watch" to "that may be my favorite movie" in about 4 viewings. But anchorman, step brothers, old school and talladega nights are all worth watching. You should give them a shot.

And to get back to the topic, Happy is my favorite Sandler movie. I think it will be really hard to recapture the spirit of the first at their ages now. I'll give a sequel a shot but I'm worried it will be a huge disappointment

I only went to see the Waterboy to see the teaser trailer for the PHantom Menace.

No mention of You Don't Mess with the Zohan? That movie is hilarious. Although I must admit I only know two people IRL that feel the same way.

Are Happy and Shooter going to be on the senior tour?
