I have concerns on the cast selection. Also sort of hoped that they would make it semi cartoonish like the game, I was thinking along the lines of scanner darkly. Still I could be persuaded to see it if future trailers look as good.

I'm not feeling Kevin Hart as Roland at all. Should have been Terry Crews. Gina Gershon as Moxxi is interesting though. I guess Cate Blanchett needed some remodeling done on her house, no idea why she's in this.

Its like Mad Max, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Fifth Element had a baby.


Can almost guarantee it'll be a theatrical bomb, but I'm a Borderlands fan so I'll definitely watch it. The special effects looked decent enough, not sure about the casting though. This will be one of those "don't take it seriously, just enjoy the ride" movies.

Looking at the cast, I don't see anyone playing Brick or Mordecai. How do you have a Borderlands movie without those two characters?

Don't really have a problem with it. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some cameos or something, but neither character fills an indispensable role in the story. Kevin Hart as Roland is a little weird, just due to height.

This is looking like it may be the stinker of the year. Hearing NOTHING good about this. Unfortunate since I think there is a lot to like about the Borderlands IP that could have been fun and entertaining. But Hollywood has shown yet again their ability to take something popular and destroy it.

I thought it was a joke the first time I saw a poster for it. Blows my mind they actually spent money to make this. Of all the video games to adapt, this is definitely one of them.

Going Saturday to see this with my sons. We've played through the Borderlands series a lot. Hopefully, at the very least, it will be decent enough as a popcorn flick.

And I am still baffled how Cate freaking Blanchett is in this! Does she owe the cartels money or something?

If everybody saw the bad reviews it probably wouldn't top $5m. But given that a bunch of gamer boys probably bought tickets early it'll probably do $10-15m then die off quickly.

I think they spent what - $120m on this?

I think the biggest miss is Jack Black playing Claptrap. The voice acting was the perfect line between annoying and endearing. It worked great especially when all of the characters hated him more than I did so he's kinda sympathetic too.

Now replace a tinny little voice with Jack Black and you've got a completely different character. I am going to begrudgingly watch it someday but it will not be soon. And also it better come on for free.

Went with my nephews last night. Having played some of the games but not to completion I went in with pretty low expectations and it was OK. Not great, not unwatchable.
