Has anyone seen this yet? I watched the first episode last night and I'm hooked. The twist at the end of Episode 1 was a nice touch! There are only 8 episodes in the season so this is perfect. I love the animation and the story so far is pretty good. Curious to hear other's thoughts.

A couple of episodes in and I'm digging it so far. Really like the animation style, and the voice cast is pretty solid.

Decided to check this out and watched the first episode last night. Wow, this show looks amazing!

I watched "The tale of the Ronin and the bride" last night, episode 5. I did NOT expect that at all. Awesome episode

I don't know what awards it would be eligible for but episode 5 should win something.

I really hope this gets a second season. Very interested to see where they take it with Mizu sailing to London with Abijah and Akemi embracing her role as a wife in the shogunate. Overall, I felt like it definitely got stronger as it went along. The first episodes were decent but predictable to me, but the later ones definitely took it a step up, and I wanted more by the time it finished.

This show may be the best animated show ever created. Just incredible!!

Beautiful show but season finale didn't do much for me.

I know it's a cartoon but the ending was filled with cliche villain moments all over the place where he could have killed her if he wanted to.

Also didn't know muzzle loaders had sniper like accuracy.

An awesome show. I hope it gets second season. I normally don't like shows like this but I gave it a shot and it sucked me in.

Try Arcane next, also on Netflix

And Castlevania on Netflix, and The Legend of Vox Machina on Amazon for something a little littler in tone.

Probably my rankings, invincible purely because of the feels of the last episode. Arcane had the most interesting story for me. Vox Machina is just fun as hell with some epic moments mixed in.

The Tale of the Ronin and the Bride was a really cool episode. The storytelling was great.

Only a couple episodes in, in total agreement that this show is great. So far my favorite animated show on Netflix has been Castlevania but this will probably overtake it.

Just finished and really enjoyed it. Thought the art style was fantastic, it had strong character work, and great story.

Looking forward to season 2.

Episode 5, holy **** this show is incredible.

Seems unreal that season 2 of Arcane won't be out for another year.

Can't wait for season 2 of Blue Eye Samurai. REALLY like it.

Writers strike would've backed it up, also takes longer than usual to produce animation in that style.

Haven't watched Blue Eye Samurai yet but keep hearing rave reviews, it's in the queue.

It's been in production for awhile. I would've thought it would've already been written before the strike.

All depends when it was greenlit. Actors were also on strike which slows things down, and the actual production time of s1 was about two years.

4 episodes in and loving this show. Glad I didn't cancel my Netflix quite yet.

Just binged all 8 episodes. Reminds me of the anime Ninja Scroll. I do hope they make a season 2 (and more)!

I'm not a big animation or samurai guy, but I just came across the trailer for this and it really does look incredible. So glad to read all the rave reactions and enthusiasm here. Gonna dive in either this week or next.

I'm not into anime but I do love art and great animation can draw me in and fascinate me (think the recent spider verse movies.). So I saw the trailer for this and decided to give the first episode a shot and I was hooked by the end of it, Not just by the animation which is f****** incredible but by the story as well. This is honestly one of the best new series I've seen this year. This show needs to win some legit awards this year.

I do enjoy martial arts shows on occasion, I watched Warrior earlier this year and really enjoyed it but Blue Eye Samurai is better IMO.

I'm always on the lookout for a great anime show but never know where to start because the anime universe is so vast. I have a bunch saved on my watchlist in Netflix.

Here are a couple I've seen if anyone has any recommendations for awesome anime series:

AoT is awesome (need to watch the finale)
Vinland Saga (1st season was great, 2nd was boring)
Cyberpunk: Night City was pretty cool.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventures - Tried to get into it but couldn't

Your next episode, No. 5, is a masterpiece of storytelling and directing work (or whoever is responsible in animated features for presenting the story on the screen). If you liked the first four episodes you're gonna love the fifth one.

Was anyone surprised by the first episode ending? I called that immediately.

Badass series so far. Not my usual thing but I'm digging it.
