So either they used the same director, or FF totally ripped off Modest Mouse's Float On video for their own Take Me Out video.

That being said, I totally dig both songs.

btw, I should give congrats to MM as they're one of five bands that MTV decides to play during their hour long video shows.

Any similarities probably a coincidence though.

Other thoughts:

-FF absolutely blows.
-There is a direct relationship between the quality of MM's music and Isaac Brock's weight.

my tivo records videos randomly (hour or 2 blocks). And you can fast forward thru them and see about the same 6 videos (I know, nothing new, but still). Its just interesting that Modest Mouse is thrown in there (along w/ FF) w/ JoJo (who I thought wasn't as good as the Superstar USA's JoJo) and that chick talking about how to make your man want you

MM's "new" song "Ocean Breathes Salty" is the best song on the CD, it's about to be released as a single I think.

FF is ok, it's just a little repetetive. He uses the same technique for every song, kinda like The Strokes.

MM's new CD is their best. A little more palatable for the mainstream. I was shocked to see them on MTV though.

They'll never top "The Lonesome Crowded West" Not that that's a bad thing, tough album to top

I, for one, prefer FF. They are all former artists, and it shows in their videos; for instance, if you can find the "Darts of Pleasure" video online, it's pretty cool.

For those FF haters, keep in mind that they are a young band, (versus MM, who've been around for 10+ years). If they can keep their act together, broaden their sound a bit more, and not suck on their second album, FF could be huge.

That said, it does make me happy to see actual indie pop being played on the radio/tv in any form.

One of the better albums I've heard this year, but Good News lacks cohesion and has too many crappy songs to warrant serious consideration of being as good as Lonesome Crowded West or Moon and Antarctica.

why is isaac brock the only featured person in the entire video? it just seemed a little weird to me that the band has been together for so long and yet it's only isaac's face on the video, even though he is the creative force behind the band. but it isn't like he's as pretty as jojo so a video should be centered around him and cardboard cutouts. i love moon and antartica and building nothing out of something, just wish their live show was a little bit better, ah well...still one of the best "indie" bands of the past decade. guess you can't say that since moon and this one put it in the ground.

isaac brock is a complete egomaniac and one of the biggest a-holes to ever walk the earth. if anyone here has seen them live, you'd know what i mean. they take about five minutes between songs to tune their guitars and fidget with equipment and brock can't handle hecklers...at all. he was suck a baby that even i heckled him (in a friendly way) and he was a total a-hole. they made the audience wait 10 minutes for the encore, also. read a little on the net about what a jerk brock is. it makes sense that he'd only feature himself in the video. that being said, they're still my favorite band and have one of the best live shows i've ever seen, next to the flaming lips.

oh, and building nothing out of something is by far their best album.

I do like their inclusion of Bill the Butcher in the video
